Malaysia continues to lead the way in medical tourism, offering a unique combination of high-quality healthcare, affordability, and exceptional patient care, said KL Wellness City (KLWC) Executive Director, Datuk Sri Dr. Vincent Tiew.
"KLWC is pioneering a first-of-its-kind ecosystem that integrates healthcare, medical services, wellness, and hospitality, creating an unparalleled experience for international medical travellers," he said.
As Southeast Asia's first fully integrated healthcare and wellness city, KLWC is setting a new benchmark for the region, serving as a model for other countries aiming to transform their healthcare infrastructure. Backed by a bold vision and a strong foundation, KLWC is well-positioned to emerge as a leading regional hub, driving innovation and international collaboration in the global healthcare landscape.
Tiew was speaking in Guangzhou, China, where he witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CISW Holding Group and its partners from Thailand, China, Singapore, and Malaysia.
He delivered a keynote address, spotlighting Malaysia's dynamic medical tourism industry and the country's growing reputation as a premier global healthcare destination.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the business, healthcare, and investment communities to enhance cross-border partnerships and strengthen ties in trade and industry.
During his presentation, Tiew highlighted Malaysia's global competitiveness in medical tourism, citing the nation's advanced medical infrastructure, internationally recognised specialists, and cost-efficient services that continue to attract patients worldwide.
He also shared KLWC's vision of becoming a world-class healthcare and wellness destination by offering a fully integrated environment that meets the evolving needs of global medical travellers.
The Guangzhou event sets the stage for three major international healthcare and wellness exhibitions, culminating in the Top Global Wellness Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 21 to 21–22, 2025.
The summit will serve as a strategic platform for healthcare and wellness leaders from seven countries to exchange insights, explore emerging trends, and foster cross-border collaboration in the rapidly growing wellness economy.
